 A) Best Piece of Creative Work - HSC Major Work
The piece entitled "The Broken House of Truths" was inspired by my experiences with the United Nations. The piece represents the stifling reality of today's society posing the glass half-empty, glass half-full question. The house is a visual metaphor for the UN, however, is this a structure which has withstood the perils of time, OR, is it a decaying ruin serving no purpose to society? The idealistic, utopian wonderland presented to society by the media is represented externally by a bombardment of images, closest to the view, while the stark reality of poverty and war is concealed by dirtied windows behind the piece, furthest from the viewer. The work thus poses questions at the heart of evaluating the purpose and effectiveness of the UN.
 B) A Great Piece of Architecture - The Chrysler Building
The Chrysler Building, designed by architect William Van Alen, has stood solidly upon the iconic New York skyline since 1930. The building contains an astronomical 3,862 windows and was declared a National Historic Landmark in 1976.
C) Something Beautiful
The image above captures a panoramic view of part of the coast of Honolulu, Hawaii from the top of Diamond Head. In the distance the sky and sea become one evoking an emotional state of tranquility, while the bounty of Hawaii''s luscious green hills combine to create a sublime experience.
